GaiaOS · Operating system
In developmentAn operating system with intelligence built in.
GaiaOS gives Apple-abandoned Macs a second life: every driver preinstalled, a desktop that feels like home, and Gaia, an intelligence that lives in the machine.
In development. A working prototype runs on the founder’s own T2 MacBook Pro.

Hardware
Everything just works.
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, audio, Touch Bar, webcam, keyboard, trackpad and fans, prebuilt for T2-era MacBooks, iMacs and Minis. Boot the installer and the machine works.
Desktop
A desktop you already know.
Dock, spaces, a ⌘-key layer, translucent Gaia Glass material, search, control centre, notifications and widgets. Built on a Linux LTS base and GNOME, refined until it feels native. Existing software runs on day one.
- deb, snap, flatpak and AppImage
- Windows applications through compatibility layers
- One design-token system for every surface

Intelligence
Gaia lives in the machine.
An intelligence that watches battery, network and disk, controls the system, remembers you and syncs through GaiaOS ID. Bring your own model: local or cloud, your choice.

Why
Against planned obsolescence.
Hardware does not stop being good when support ends. GaiaOS is built for the machines the manufacturer forgot, and for the people who own them.
Yours
Yours by default.
Zero telemetry by default. Usage logs stay local. Analytics are opt-in only. The identity and cloud server can be self-hosted.
Roadmap
PlannedNext: the phone.
A mobile operating system, GM-OS, is on the roadmap. No dates. We will publish when there is something to show.
